Hagen-Javoev Clash Lands on Nordic Fight Night, 2/1

Norwegian prospect Alexander Hagen (3-0) will start the New Year with his first six-round contest as he faces Georgian southpaw Roman Javoev (3-1-1, 2 KOs) at the Nordic Fight Night in Frederikshavn on February 1.

‘’I'm happy to fight in my first six rounder,’’ said Hagen. ‘’Given the extra two rounds, I predict I will work him down and hopefully stop him before the last bell rings. I have been over in Copenhagen at Butchers Garage sparring with Tim-Robin Lihuag, which has been great. I’m now back in Oslo and have a Polish southpaw over to do some work. I feel fit and ready. I can’t wait to get back into the ring and start the New Year with another win.’’

Promoter Nisse Sauerland: ‘’Alexander has showed some real promise. He came back from an injury and put in a good performance to get the win over Shahriyar Weissi at the Nordic Fight Night in Kolding last year. This will be his first six-round bout but I believe he is ready for the step up. With Cecilia, Tim-Robin and Alexander all in action this is guaranteed to be a great show for Norwegian boxing fans.’’

Pound-for-pound number one Cecilia Braekhus (23-0, 7 KOs) headlines the show at the Arena Nord, defending her WBA, WBC & WBO Female Welterweight titles against Myriam Lamare (22-3, 10 KOs), while Tim-Robin Lihuag (5-1, 4 KOs) squares off against the undefeated Alexander Runde (6-0, 5 KOs). Tickets are available at arenanord.dk.
