EBU light heavyweight champion Eduard Gutknecht (23-1, 9KOs), fresh off a win over mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Uzelkov in Frankfurt on February 4th, will according to French sources make a voluntary defence against Tony Averlant (17-5, 4KOs), the reigning EU ruler, on March 31 in Kiel on Sauerland´s big show.

Averlant, a light-punching, awkward but effective fighter, is well-known to German fans after his two fights with Artur Hein. The pair drew the first time, but Averlant wore him down Hein for a stoppage win the second time around.

Headlining the Kiel bill is Arthur Abraham, facing Polish super middleweight Piotr Wilczewski.
