Gutknech vs. Braehmer Heading To Berlin on February 2

By Per Ake Persson

The always well informed Bild Zeitung writes that EBU light heavyweight champ Eduard Gutknecht's mandatory defense against stablemate Juergen Braehmer is on for the Max Schmeling Hall in Berlin Feb 2.

Both men began their respective careers with Universum and both are now promoted by Sauerland.

It will be Gutknecht, trained by Ulli Wegner, however who get the blue corner in this fight - meaning the hometown corner.

Braehmer, who joined Sauerland this past summer, is now trained by Karsten Roever and has recently started preparations for what is a very hot matchup with the winner sure to close in on a world title shot. Braehmer is the favourite but in his recent fights he displayed the wear and tear of a long career and can be outboxed.
