Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Guillermo Rigondeaux continues to train with his coach Pedro Diaz. The pair reunited last month.
Rigondeaux's next fight was announced a few days ago. He will travel to the UK on March 12th, where he's going to face Jazza Dickens at the Liverpool Echo Arena in England.
Rigondeaux (16-0, 10 KO) is going to make a big impression to the UK fans. He wants to dispatch of Dickens (21-1, 6 KO) in fashion. The boxer fought last November when he dominated Drian Francisco on the Saul Alvarez-Miguel Cotto undercard from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Rigondeaux's win against Francisco was criticized by fans and observers alike. He placed on the card to make a big impression, but the fight wasn't pretty to watch. He returned to the arms of Diaz to gain some excitement to his style.
He wants to regain the same form that he held back in 2013, when he dominated Nonito Donaire to unify the WBA/WBO super bantamweight world titles. Both titles were stripped away from him for inactivity, which was due to the boxer's promotional and managerial issues.
"In professional boxing you have to impress the eye of fans. People pay to see something [entertaining] and [the fighter] has a specific job in providing a show. Those who know boxing know that you can not change someone's style overnight style. Rigondeaux wants to do good things, we want to give the public what they want - a great show, a fight in which people being happy," Diaz told ESPN Deportes.
