Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has advised BoxingScene.com that WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8KOs) has signed an 18 month extension of his promotional contract. Rigondeaux's two-year contract expired after his September 15th decision win over with Roberto Marroquin (22-2, 15KOs).
The two-time Olympic gold medal winner will potentially return on an HBO televised date of December 15th at Marlins Park in Miami, says Arum.
As part of the extension, Rigondeaux will receive a satisfactory increase in his monetary pay per fight.
According to Arum, the new deal calls for a minimum of three and a maxmimum of five fights.
