Guillermo Rigondeaux, Diaz No Longer Working Together

By Ben Jacobs

As Top Rank announced Guillermo Rigondeaux's final fight under their banner for July 19 in Macau, news emerged that the Cuban is no longer working with esteemed trainer Pedro Díaz.

Díaz, who previously trained Miguel Cotto, Odlanier Solis and others, informed BoxingScene via text that he has other boxing and MMA projects now and is not working with Rigondeaux.

Readers to the site will have seen photographs from 'El Chacal's' training camp in which he is seen to be working with Jorge Rubio, who appears to be his coach once again following a previous affiliation together.

Rigondeaux will face Thai veteran Sod Kokietgym  in Macau.

Diaz is doing a lot of work with the blackzilians MMA gym in Boca Raton. That is probably a higher priority for him than Rigondeuax is at the moment.
