The World Boxing Association has ordered Panama's Guillermo Jones (38-3-2, 30KOs), holder of the WBA's cruiserweight championship, and the challenger Lateef Kayode (18-0, 14KOs) of Nigeria, to reach an agreement.
Although the official challenger is the Dennis Lebedev, the WBA's interim champion, Kayode was the leading available contender before the interim championship was disputed, thus he retains his position of getting the first opportunity to challenge Jones for the title.
The two sides have been ordered to reach an agreement by March 1, or the WBA will order a purse bid - which is going to take place on March 14 at the WBA's headquarters in Panama.
