Bob Santos, the manager of Robert Guerrero, talked about his fighter’s potential fight with Floyd Mayweather to BoxingScene.com:
“I talked to [Golden Boy CEO] Richard [Schaefer] yesterday, and obviously, they’re still talking about what’s going to be the best move for them, whether it’s Robert or Canelo [Alvarez].
“Personally, they’re going to have a lot more obstacles to overcome making a deal happen with Canelo. He’s too green right now. He’s been fighting Matthew Hatton and guys that look like my grandpa.
“Another thing is the catchweight, which they would have to do with Canelo. No catchweight if Floyd fights Robert. Back in the day, if you want to beat the best, you beat them at their own game.”
