Rodrigo Guerrero scored a controversial technical decision over Raul Martinez after six rounds in their vacant title fight rematch Saturday evening at the Municipal Auditorium in Tijuana, Mexico.
Scores were 57-56 (twice) and 59-54 in their aborted contest, which ended after six rounds when an accidental headbutt left Martinez with a nasty gash above his right eye.
Guerrero scored a knockdown in the third round, and was the aggressor throughout the bout. Martinez was the more accurate boxer, but with his punches obviously not producing as much damage in the eyes of the officials.
