Guerfi Aims To Shock Reveco For WBA Belt in Cordoba

By Per Ake Persson

Luxembourg-based French flyweight Karim Guerfi, 18-0, faces WBA interim-champion Juan Carlos Reveco May 13 in Cordoba, Argentina.

The road to Argentina and the title fight have been somewhat rocky but Karim arrived in Cordoba last Sunday and is already on weight.

Guerfi turned pro in 2006 and first won the French flyweight title, then the IBF Youth crown and was later appointed mandatory challenger for the EBU title but Karim and his management moved in on the WBA title instead and Guerfi has in fact fought his last two fights in Panama right in front of the WBA bosses.

He´s now gotten his chance but is in tough against a hometown hero, who has a lot more experience at top level than Karim, who is somewhat untested.

Reveco by KO, body shot around the fifth round. Reveco can bang, it's too bad he hasn't been put in with the top guys at 112. A fight with Marquez would be a war
