Gradovich, Matt Korobov, J. Magdaleno Return Foes Set

By Ryan Burton

Las Vegas based promotional company Top Rank is still filling out it's fall and winter schedule but looks to have a very busy fourth quarter. Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman provided with updates on a few of their fighters that will be returning to the ring over the next two months.

Former IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich and middleweight title challenger Matt Korobov, who are both coming off losses, will return to the ring on October 24th on the Terence Crawford-Dierry Jean undercard that takes place in Omaha, Neb.

Gradovich (19-1-1) last fought in May when he lost his title to Lee Selby in the UK and will return against Aldimar Santos (19-8). Korobov (24-1) was stopped by WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee in his last bout and will fight a tune up against Josue Obando (13-7-1).

21-year-old super bantamweight/featherweight contender Jessie Magdaleno (21-0) will face Vergel Nebran (14-9) on October 17th in Phoenix, Ariz. in the main event of the UniMas "Solo Boxeo" series. Magdaleno is currently ranked as the #1 contender by the WBO at featherweight.

With no title on the line there might not be a big enough pot to make a fight between them viable right now, given the loser would likely have nowhere to go, but I'd very much like to see Gradovich…
