Gonzalez-Segura: Felix Diaz and Yudel Jhonson Added

Olympic medalists Felix Diaz and Yudel Jhonson were added on the Saturday, August 17, show when unbeaten Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez will face former world champion Giovani Segura at the International Ballroom of El San Juan Resort and Casino in Isla Verde, Carolina, Puerto Rico, in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation, in association with Top Rank to be broadcast on DIRECTV.

“Now we have a more international card with fighters from Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, United States and Puerto Rico. Felix Diaz and Yudel Johnson, two great prospects who were good amateur fighters for their countries, will fight for their first time in Puerto Rico on this great show”, said promoter Ivan Rivera, PRBBP President, about both southpaw boxers.

Felix Diaz (13-0, 7 KOs), a Gold medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China, will fight for the second time in 2013 when he faces a rival to be announced in a 10 round fight at the welterweight division. Diaz, who also was a Gold medalist at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games and Bronze medalist at the 2003 Panamerican Games, come off a third round TKO victory over Ricerado Veras last June.

While, Yudel Jhonson (14-1, 9 KOs), a Silver medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, will face a foe to be named in the junior middleweights scheduled to 10 rounds. Johnson, who has two wins in 2013, won a Gold medal at the 1999 Panamerican Games and at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in representation of his country, Cuba.

Headlining the show, flyweight contender Bomba Gonzalez (13-0, 11 KOs) will face former junior flyweight world champion Giovani Segura (29-3-1, 25 KOs) in a ten rounds bout for the WBO Latino flyweight title. Actually, Bomba González is ranked #7 and Segura #11 by the WBO in the 112 pounds division.

Also, former superbantamweight contender Jonathan “Polvo” Oquendo (22-3, 15 KOs) will return to the ring in an eight round and featherweight division bout against Brian Ramirez (10-4, 5 KOs).

Four more fights will complete the show.
