Gomez: Saul Alvarez is a Fraud, a Lie, and I'll Prove It!

By Jhonny Gonzalez

Alfonso Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KOs) is not impressed with the fame or the undefeated record of Saul "El Canelo" Alvarez (37-0-1, 27 KOs). Gomez challenges Alvarez for his WBC junior middleweight title on September 17 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The battle will be showcased on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz pay-per-view. Gomez considers Alvarez a hyped-up, promotional product and views him as a ratings creation by Mexican television network Televisa.

"Saul is emerging as the leading man for soap operas made by Televisa. [Alvarez] is a fraud, a fantasy, a lie and when we go up to the ring I'm going to prove to everyone that he is not the fighter that everyone says he is. I'll be the villain in the soap opera but in the end everyone will thank me because I'll take away the mask of this Televisa invention," Gomez said.
Gomez should shut up and try to win a few fights against legit opponents. Who has he beat?
He beat Jesus Soto-Karass who gave Mike Jones a lot of trouble in their first fight. He also crushed Arturo Gatti.

Alvarez is getting spoon fed and Gomez was picked as his next victim. Gomez is like Ryan Rhodes, but smaller, no knock on Gomez' talent. He was chosen for his liabilities, small, worn, and under powered. Hopefully, he puts up…
