Alfonso Gomez was not amused with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez calling him a 'clown.' During their press tour, Gomez dedicating a rap song to Canelo, which the young Mexican took offense to. Gomez vows that on September 17, at Staples Center, he will clobber Alvarez to capture the WBC junior middleweight crown. Gomez feels that a knockout is necessary to take Alvarez out. Getting a decision over the Mexican superstar, in Los Angeles, will be a tough task to accomplish.

"No more raps and conferences. It's time to train hard. I have the experience and I have skills. I'm no clown, I know it's in the gym where the fights are won, and I will give him a beating. I will not go out there to survive the rounds. One the bell rings, I will mark my territory. He is the champion, a spoiled child and I know I have to knock him out," Gomez said to Sal Rodriguez.
well at least Gomez is a Top Rank fighter, which means he will go and at least TRY TO WIN compared to other like Hatton and Rhodes who fought like they didn't want to win or HURT Alvarez
Giving Top Rank props over GBP is a bit silly right now. Top Rank can't light a candle...

I was super disappointed Gomez pulled out of his fight against JCC Jr. Gomez was the better boxer, but JCC Jr was going to have a massive size advantage (147 fighter vs 160 fighter). It was a good matchup. However, he doesn't have a shot in the dark against Canelo. RIP Gomez. I still hate you fo...

thing is with alvarez's recent opponents, like hatton, lovemore, and rhodes, they didn't try to hurt or stop him, that's why they all basically went to 12. j.cotto and baldomir wanted to touch him up and actually fight, look what happened. i'm not sure if this is right to say, but i kind of feel ...
