It’s no secret that Miguel Cotto likely will have a pay-per-view extravaganza with Canelo Alvarez in 2015 rather than defending his lineal 160-pound championship against power-punching middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin.

“If Canelo wins, very likely. If Cotto wins, never in a million years — because Cotto knows he’d get knocked out,” trainer Abel Sanchez told BoxingScene.com on Nov. 7. “Canelo is confident because he’s young. He’s still brash. He’s still young. He still thinks he can conquer the world. But he gets knocked out in less than eight rounds.”

Sanchez was even less charitable for Cotto.

“Cotto doesn’t go five,” he said.
