According to Betway, Chris Eubank Jnr is at the top of the pecking order to fight world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

The leading online bookmaker is 8/11 for Golovkin, regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, to pick a fight with Eubank over Billy Joe Saunders or Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Saunders’ WBO middleweight belt would make it a full set for the Kazakhstani but he falls behind Eubank in the list of possible challengers at 15/8.

Canelo-Golovkin is arguably the biggest potential bout on everyone’s lips but Betway rate the big-hitting Mexican as an outsider at 7/2 to be Golvkin’s next fight.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “A fight with Chris Eubank Jnr offers a far bigger payday for Gennady Golovkin than if he were to take on Billy Joe Saunders.

“Punters agree that money could be the deciding factor and have been happy to back Eubank being named Golovkin’s next challenger at 8/11 with Saunders priced at 15/8. Golovkin-Canelo would be huge but we think that’s more likely to go ahead in 2017.”

Gennady Golovkin to fight next:

Chris Eubank Jnr - 8/11

Billy Joe Saunders - 15/8

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez - 7/2
