Golovkin-Stevens: Ola Afolabi Slated To Face Janek

By Luke Furman

Former WBO interim-cruiserweight champion Ola Afolabi (19-3-4, 9KOs) is slated to face Polish boxer Lukasz Janik (26-1, 14KOs) on November 2 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Janik's sole defeat was a fifth round TKO at the hands of unbeaten countryman Mateusz Masternak in October 2009. Janik has won his last eleven fights. Afolabi is coming off a twelve round decision loss to Marco Huck in their May trilogy bout. The main event that evening is a middleweight showdown between IBO/WBA champion Gennady Golovkin and challenger Curtis Stevens.
