The Forum, Los Angeles, California - WBA/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) is looking for a big name for his next ring appearance.

Golovkin, who also holds the WBC's interim title at 160-pounds, is the mandatory challenger to full WBC champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Canelo will first defend his title on May 7th against Amir Khan at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The winner of the fight will have to face Golovkin in the fall.

If the Canelo-Khan winner decides to take a pass on GGG, then he will be elevated to the status of full champion.

Another possible Golovkin option, which is being pushed by Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, is newly crowned WBO super middleweight champion Gilberto Ramirez (34-0, 24KOs). Earlier this month, Ramirez captured the WBO title from longtime champion Arthur Abraham on the Pacquiao-Bradley III HBO Pay-Per-View undercard.

Golovkin is not very interested in facing Ramirez at super middleweight. He says the Mexican boxer needs a few more fights to raise his profile because he's not a big enough name at the moment.

"My focus right is to get all the belts in the middleweight division. I think he needs a couple [more] fights. He's a great fighter but he's maybe not a big name. I need a big name," Golovkin said.
