Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, who promotes British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (24-1, 18KOs), explained why a deal is not yet finalized with IBO/WBA/IBF/WBC middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Over a week ago, Hearn said a deal would be finalized in "48 hours." There is no deal as of yet, but both sides are continuing to work hard to get the terms in order.

Eubank successfully defended his British middleweight title for the first time on June 25th, with a fourth-round stoppage of the previously unbeaten Tom Doran. Earlier in the year he battered Nick Blackwell into retirement to capture that belt.

Golovkin was in action back in April when he blew out IBF mandatory challenger Dominic Wade in two easy rounds at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Hearn understands that some fans are frustrated because a deal has not been finalized, but explains that a fight of this nature requires a lot of details to fall into place for all parties.

"It's very, very complicated. And actually when you have contracts coming through... you have a contract with Matchroom and Eubank Jr., you've got a contract with Sky Sports for that particular fight, you've got a contract with HBO, you've got a contract with Gennady Golovkin - and you have three or four contracts to draft, and these contracts go backwards and forwards with so many changes on so many different points - international TV, sponsors on the ring mats, press conferences, drug testing, hotel rooms, flights, gloves, ringside officials," Hearn told IFL TV.

"At no point has anything come back to make me think this fight won't happen. Again, we're on the fourth or fifth redraft of the contract. Now there might come a time where everyone agrees on everything and then there are only small things left - and then the contract is put in front of someone and someone says 'no, I'm not taking the fight.' But I cant see that happening."

"I believe the fight will get made and I believe that it will get made this week. But again, if come Friday there is no announcement - don't start tweeting me that I'm a fraud and I'm liar. I'm just telling what I think. Things can change. People can change their minds on certain things that can disrupt a contract."
