Golden Show Being Planned Pre-Mayweather vs Ortiz

by Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com had been advised that Golden Boy Promotions is trying to put together a Las Vegas card on September 16th, which is the day before their mega-show at the MGM Grand with Floyd Mayweather Jr. challenging Victor Ortiz for the WBC welterweight title. There is a very good chance of the show being televised as a special edition of ESPN's "Friday Night Fights." The card will be loaded with up and coming talent from the Golden Boy stable, including Las Vegas native and undefeated lightweight contender Sharif Bogere (20-0, 12KOs). No venue has been finalized for show.

GBP is doing big things, as hard as it is for me to give these guys props, because of the way they are handling Canello and having him stay away from 154 pounders... These guys are making moves every time…
