Reverb Club, Reading, Pennsylvania - Glen Tapia dropped journeyman Manuel Guzman once in each of the first two rounds before their scheduled six-round junior middleweight match was stopped in the second round tonight in Reading, Pa.
The 22-year-old Tapia improved to 13-0 and recorded his seventh knockout. The 29-year-old Guzman (7-16-2, 3 KOs), of Lancaster, Pa., lost his seventh straight fight. Before tonight, Tapia, a top prospect promoted by Bob Arums Top Rank Inc., had three fights canceled since January. He took this fight on short notice just to get back in the ring.
