It was announced. Then it was cancelled. Now it’s on again now. On March 15, rising Ukrainian heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov (16-0-1, 11 KOs) will get the toughest test of his career so far against two-time, two-division world champion Tomasz Adamek (49-2, 29 KOs) of Poland. The fight was confirmed today by Glazkov’s manager Egis Klimas in an exclusive conversation with BoxingScene.
“Yes, it’s a done deal”, said Klimas.
IBF #4 and WBC #9 “Goral” Adamek was slated to fight “Czar” Glazkov on Nov. 16 but the fight has been cancelled several days before that date due to an illness to Adamek. Glazkov fought ex-cruiserweight Garret Wilson instead, scoring a workmanlike decision over the rugged opponent.
Adamek, 37, who is known to be a very active fighter in the ring, fought only once this year, scoring a one-sided decision over Dominick Guinn in August. Glazkov, 29, 2008 Beijing Olympics super heavyweight bronze medalist, was more active. He opened 2013 with a close draw versus Malik Scott in a fight which some experts saw him losing, and then stopped incapable Byron Polley in two rounds this August before getting his win over Wilson.Tags: Tomasz Adamek , Vyacheslav Glazkov , Adamek-Glazkov , Adamek vs Glazkov
