BoxingScene.com recently had a quick chat with former WBA/WBO junior flyweight champion Giovani Segura.  The fighter known as "The Aztec Warrior" recently attempted to pick up the WBO flyweight title but lost by knockout to champion Brian Viloria in the Philippines.  Segura had massive swelling on the right side of his face and it was said that he suffered a fractured orbital bone.  He gamely fought with the swelling until the fight was stopped in the 8th round.

Segura is now back home in Southern California and has already returned to the gym.

"I am doing well.  Today (Friday) will be my first day back in the gym.  I feel great and can't wait to get back in there training," Segura told BoxingScene.com.

Although he hasn't been cleared to spar, Segura is hopeful he won't be out of the ring very long.

"I am not sure when I can start sparring but I can do all of my other training.  You will be the first to know when I can start sparring again.  I hope I can get back in the ring soon," said Segura.
