24-year-old super middleweight contender Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (33-0) is just weeks away from the biggest fight of his career.  On April 9th he will face WBO champion Arthur Abraham (44-4) in the co-feature bout underneath the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley 3 main event.  The pay-per-view card will be distributed by HBO.

"The training camp has been excellent," said Ramirez. "We are training like we always do. We are training very hard. I am very happy with the way everything is going and we are just waiting for April 9th to arrive."

Before the fight was announced, Ramirez said that he had no problem facing Abraham in Germany, where most of the two-division champion's fights have taken place.  He did however admit that he was thrilled to find out the fight would happen in Las Vegas.

"Ever since we found out that this fight was coming up, I was happy. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. I didn't care where the fight was because in the ring it will just be me and him - but yes we were very happy to hear it would be in Las Vegas on such a big card. That is the type of opportunity that we wanted, so that the people can get to know me better and being on a high profile card is the best way to do it. Fighting a big fight in Las Vegas at the MGM has been something that I have dreamed of since I was a kid," Ramirez told BoxingScene.com.
