The war of words continues between former friends IBF super featherweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (17-0, 16 KOs) and former four division world champion Adrien Broner (33-2, 24 KOs).

Broner WENT OFF on the undefeated 22-year-old fighter earlier this week in an n-word laden, homophobic tirade ... and even blasted Floyd Mayweather for allowing Tank on The Money Team.

"Going against the grain will f*** yo "WAVE" up.... yo n*gga came to me talking bout you can beat my brothas and I told him you can't n*gga. F*** wrong with that gay ass n*gga. I'm riding with my n*ggas like you go ride with yo n*ggas, all this sh*t is for girls! Where I'm from I don't get down like that. N*ggas is FRAUDS," Broner stated.

But Tank joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (airs Tuesday night on FS1) and fired back -- saying Broner's hate stems from simple jealously.

Davis says Broner was supposed to be the "next Floyd Mayweather" but he fell short and it's killing him.

Davis says the two are headed for a showdown in 2018... and that sounds great to us! They are far apart in weight, with Davis fighting at 130-pounds and Broner's last contest taking place at 147.

"He got ups and downs in his life right now. He drink a lot and things like that. He was drinking or something, talking wild crazy to one of my partners and it got back to me. I just confronted him about him and told him 'you gotta stop doing that, calling me out and things like that.' He wants Floyd to gravitate to him, but he's not signed with Floyd," Davis said.

"He crossed a line. Like I said, he be drinking and thinks like that, and then he loses his mind. And then the next day he'll hit you up like nothing happen. I believe [he is jealous of me]. I came up so fast and I'm taking his spotlight. He was supposed to be the next Floyd Mayweather. He fell short, so I'm picking up his lack of work and he don't like that."

"Hopefully we can get it done in 2018. I can stop him. I believe I can stop him in the late rounds. I can stop him in the eight through the tenth."
