George Groves, Adam Booth Have Decided To Part Ways
By Terence Dooley
London's Adam Booth has reached out to BoxingScene to confirm Carl Froch's claim that the experienced trainer has parted company with Hammersmith's Super middleweight contender George Groves. Froch revealed the news during an interview with talkSport earlier today. When asked to confirm it by BoxingScene, Booth gave a one word answer "True" before giving permission to spread the word.
It leave former British and Commonwealth champion Groves, 19-0 (15), with a decision to make as he prepares for his November 23rd WBA and IBF title showdown with Carl Froch at Manchester's Phones 4U Arena, the 25-year-old formed an exceptional partnership with his former trainer and will now have to recreate that chemistry with a new team and do the work necessary to win the bout. It's a big ask, but Groves is a big talent and will have learned a lot under his former mentor.
Booth is currently preparing David Haye for his September 28 heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury, which also takes place at Manchester's renamed Arena.

Theres some rumours going round its just a mind games thing and its just a wind up. Groves is my favourite current fighter and i'm really hoping he hasn't screwed this up for himselfComment by Adamjr91 on 09-17-2013
This fight isn't going past 3. Groves simply doesn't have the power to get Frochs' respect and doesn't have the speed to avoid Frochs' punches. Froch KO2Comment by CraigM on 09-17-2013
This is ridiculous. Why on earth would you lose your trainer months before the biggest fight by far of your career... I was going to buy one of the £300 tickets, but not now.Comment by Money_May on 09-17-2013
