WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) is training for the highly anticipated unification with IBF middleweight king David Lemieux (34-2, 31KOs) on October 17th at New York's Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Golovkin says his goal is to unify the entire middleweight division. He looks forward to moving past Lemieux to a mandatory fight against the winner of the November 21 bout between WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and challenger Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

WBO champion Andy Lee defends in October against Billy Joe Saunders, and Danny Jacobs will defend his WBA 'regular' belt against Peter Quillin in December.

"There are some interesting fights that I'd like to have. But boxing is very difficult to predict, even for the three months ahead. At the moment, I'm am fully concentrated on the fight against David Lemieux. I am also interested in meeting with Andy Lee. Both fighters are good in the ring, and it will be interesting to meet the two of them. As far as my future plans, first of all, as I have said many times - I want to unify all the titles," Golovkin said.

Golovkin stated in a recent interview that he believes Canelo would present the toughest challenge for him. The two boxers sparred with each other in very competitive sessions.

"Canelo is a very talented boxer, and it was very interesting to work with him in sparring. I see him as one of the most probable opponents for a big fight in the future. I think in the near future Canelo will make the full move to the middleweight division and once there everything is possible," Golovkin said.
