Gennady Golovkin Demolishes Matthew Macklin in Three

MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort, Mashantucket, Connecticut - IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) drilled Matthew Macklin (24-5, 20KOs) in three rounds with a monster left hook to the liver that closed the show early.

Golovkin's power advantage was clear in the first round as he pushed Macklin back with every punch. Macklin looked to be in survival mode by the second round and suffered a cut above his left eye. In the third round, Macklin tried to rally, throwing punches with both hands to get Golovkin's respect but he was crushed with a huge shot to the body as he was pressed against the ropes and went down hard for the full count.
