Dual middleweight boxing world champion Daniel Geale has returned to Australia minus one important piece of luggage - his new WBA Super title belt.

A contingent of media, family and friends were on hand to greet IBF and WBA Super title champion Geale, who arrived around 38 hours after his split points decision win over Felix Sturm in Germany.

Geale had his old IBF title belt on display at Sydney Airport on Monday night, but will have to wait a while before collecting his latest prize.

"Unfortunately they only had the one (WBA belt) there; it was Felix Sturm's belt," Geale told AAP.

"I get mine maybe in a week or two, so I'm looking forward to that.

"I did expect it. It happened last time as well. I didn't have my (IBF) belt to bring back from Germany last time; that's the way they usually do those sort of things.

"They tend not to expect the challenger to win, I guess."

Geale said he was looking at mandatory title defenses against Australian Sam Soliman for the IBF belt and Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin for the WBA - and also at fighting the winner of this month's WBC title fight between champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Argentina's Sergio Martinez.

"There's definitely options out there for us, some pretty decent name fighters out there," Geale said.

"If the Australian public want to see me and Sam fight, maybe that will happen."

One punch: Not with a Lonsdale belt ya don't mate. You have to defend it 3 times before you can own it. Which makes it so special!!.............

Thats how it always works. A title belt is like a trophy of sorts. You never "lose" the actual belt itself. Before the fight, the sanctioning body supervisor gets the belt from the champion. After the fight, if the challenger won, he is given the belt in the ring to pose for photos and celebrate....

Would be disappointed if he faces Soliman.
