Frankie Gavin and Denton Vassell’s British and Commonwealth Welterweight showdown will headline promoter Frank Warren’s show at the Liverpool Olympia on Friday 28th June.
The highly-anticipated domestic dust-up between the unbeaten champions - with combined records of 35-0 and 21 KO’s - is one of the hottest fights in British boxing and will be televised live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).
Unfortunately the Paul Smith v Tony Dodson British Super-Middleweight title fight will now not take place on the show as a further request to extend the purse offer deadline could not be agreed upon.
The action-packed show will feature the exciting, hard-hitting, Ellesmere Port ace Paul Butler in a challenge for the WBO International Super-Flyweight Championship as he looks to secure a third title alongside his British and Commonwealth belts.
Also showcasing their talent will be Merseyside stars Liam Smith, Joe Selkirk, Stephen Smith and Matthew Fagan, plus Manchester’s Joe Murray and Rhys Roberts.

Tickets priced at £30 and £60 are available from Eventim on 0844 249 1000 or or the Liverpool Olympia Box Office at

Naw, Ushona beat Vassell and exposed his limitations.

I feel Vassell is a hidden gem in the welterweight division. He doesn't do anything great but does a lot of things well, hes big, strong, hungry and supremely conditioned. This is his time to shine!
