WBC Continental Americas heavyweight champion Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder (31-0, 31 KOs) is very likely going to have a very short night with Jason Gavern (25-16-4, 11 KOs), when the clash in a fight scheduled for ten rounds on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
Gavern, who took the fight on short notice, appears to be more overjoyed with just being involved with the card itself.
"This is kind of cool for a former policeman like me to be on a card like this and I thank everyone involved for making it happen," Gavern said. "Wilder is 31-0 with 31 knockouts for a reason. But I love to fight and look forward to putting on a good show like I always do.''
Wilder is staying busy while waiting for a date to get finalized with WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne. That fight is being discussed for the fall.
