Gato Figueroa Vows To Derail Prescott's Amir Khan Dream

By Osman Rodriguez

Junior welterweight contender Francisco "Gato" Figueroa (20-4-1, 13KOs) has promised to derail the future plans of Breidis Prescott (25-4, 20KOs). In an earlier article, Prescott told BoxingScene.com that he plans pursue a fall rematch with Amir Khan in the UK.

Figueroa and Prescott will fight each other on August 18 in Miami, Florida. Telefutura will televise. Figueroa is trying to get his career back on track after going 0-1-2 in his last three fights.

"Not so fast, buddy. You gotta get through me first. I am going to bring the heat on August 18th. The Cat is back and I'm looking to dominate the 140-pound division," Figueroa stated.

"I fight for the Puerto Rican people, I fight for my family, I fight for the thrill of victory. Prescott calls himself "The Khanqueor", he's going to be scratching posts when I'm done with him."
