Trainer Robert Garcia is confident that his fighter, WBA welterweight champion Marcos 'Chino' Maidana, has the perfect style to score an upset victory over heavily favored WBC champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 3rd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Garcia says Maidana possesses a style that Mayweather has never gone up against in the past and he feels the undefeated boxer will experience difficulties in dealing with Maidana's awkward punching style.

"Mayweather has never fought an opponent like Maidana. He's has had good opponents... Miguel Cotto, Oscar de la Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, but not one of them has the style of Chino, which is difficult because of the way he punches. Ali is the best ever and he's had defeats, Sugar Ray Leonard lost, so it is not impossible [to beat Mayweather]. It is the styles that make fights. Duran beat Leonard because of his style, not because he was better than him, and the style of Chino is perfect to get an won't be easy, but we have the desire and work ethic," said Garcia.

Garcia will eat those words. Easy picking for Floyd and another brilliant boxing exhibition. Have we already forgotten what he did to Canelo?

[QUOTE=avnikuka]It's a damn shame people are writing off Maidana this bad. I mean honestly, Cotto gave Mayweather a hell of a fight and I believe Maidana can do what Cotto tried to do far better. Mayweather has had some gray spots against non stop pressure fighters. I'm calling Maidana for the up...
