Garcia, Gradovich, Ruiz Triple Being Discussed For HBO

by Rick Reeno

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, has advised BoxingScene.com that his company is kicking around the idea of a summer tripleheader that involves the ring return of WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26KOs).

Top Rank is currently involved inĀ discussions with HBO to solidify a date.

Garcia would appear in the main event. Two potential options to face him are top contenders Orlando Cruz and Juan Manuel Lopez.

Evgeny Gradovich (16-0, 8KOs) would appear in the second bout of the evening, making the first defense of his IBF featherweight title - likely against mandatory challenger Mauricio Munoz (26-3, 12KOs) of Argentina.

Opening things up, could be hard-hitting heavyweight Andy Ruiz (18-0, 12KOs). Although it is far from a done deal, Arum indicates that there have been conversations with promoter Joe DeGuardia about matching Ruiz against fellow unbeaten Joe Hanks (21-0, 14KOs).
Only care if Mikey and Juanma fight
Exactly. If that fight doesn't happen then it's just a typical Top Rank card full of name fighters in uncompetitive fights. With some heavyweights thrown in.
