Gamboa vs. Perez is Reportedly Done, 6/8 in Montreal

By Rick Reeno

Sources close to negotiations have advised BoxingScene.com that a deal has been reached for Yuriorkis Gamboa to face lightweight Darley Perez in the HBO televised co-feature on June 8th. Gamboa (22-0, 16KOs) vs. Perez (28-0, 19KOs) will not take place in Las Vegas as previously targeted. The fight will land in the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The main event that evening, also being televised as the HBO headliner, will feature Chad Dawson in a defense of his WBC light heavyweight crown against Adonis Stevenson. Gary Shaw promotes both Dawson and Perez, while Stevenson is handled by Yvon Michel and Gamboa is promoted by 50 Cent's SMS Promotions.

Isn't 50 Cent in the process of getting blackballed? Is that possibly what's going on :dunno:

As much as I can despise Arum sometimes Gamboa made a huge career mistake leaving him. Rigo decided to stay and now he gets to fight one of the top fighters in the sport.
