Have the issues between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko been worked out? Is the fight finally back in play?

Last November in Germany, Fury shocked the entire sport when he outboxed Klitschko to win the IBO/IBF/WBO/WBA heavyweight titles. It was the first loss for Klitschko in over a decade.

There was an immediate rematch clause in the contract - which Klitschko quickly exercised. That contractual clause precludes Fury from fighting anyone else.

The fight was initially targeted for April, but then postponed after Klitschko suffered a training injury. It was then scheduled to take place in July, and once again it was postponed - and this time it was Fury who suffered a training injury.

The two sides finally agreed on October 29th, in Manchester.

But then on August 17th, Klitschko released a video message to his social media followers - advising them that Team Fury has been difficult to deal with - and he planned o take them to court.  Klitschko claimed that Fury was attempting to change the terms of their rematch - which were already agreed upon and signed by both parties in the original bout agreement.

"I just want to keep you updated on the status of my rematch against Fury. Unfortunately, Team Fury is trying to change the terms of the already signed contract multiple times and it’s going on endlessly. To protect my own rights and eventually see the rematch - I’m forced to go to court," Klitschko stated.

According to sources in Germany, Fury was looking to raise his financial incentives beyond what was originally agreed upon in the rematch clause - and Klitschko's team rejected those requests.

Now Peter Fury, the uncle and head trainer for Tyson, indicates that there is a shining light at the end of the tunnel - because both sides have apparently resolved their issues.

He says the venue has been reserved for October 29th, with the lawyers and promoters both on board to make the contest happen.

"I feel we are finally there with Fury vs. Klitschko. Expect an announcement very soon. A lot of political crap but hopefully all done. October 29 Manchester Arena," Fury stated.
