According to sources, HBO is looking to air the highly-anticipated rematch between Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch, slated for May 25 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

The first encounter, which Kessler won by controversial unanimous decision, was televised by Showtime as part of its Super Six tourney and was one of the best fights of 2010. With Froch coming off a destruction of Lucian Bute last summer and Kessler continuing his winning ways, the rematch figures to be one of the biggest matches of 2013.

It would mark Froch's HBO debut, while Kessler has fought just twice on HBO, both in 2007, a win over Librado Andrade and a loss to Joe Calzaghe.

Kessler (46-2, 35 KOs) is the WBA super middleweight champion while Froch (30-2, 22 KOs) holds the IBF's belt.
