Retired super middleweight champion and Sky Sports expert analyst Carl Froch was shaking his head at ringside, as IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) picked up a fifth round stoppage over IBF welterweight champion Kell 'Special K' Brook (36-1, 25KOs) at the O2 Arena in London.

Brook did very well in the fight, but suffered a fractured eye socket in the second round and the injury grew worse as the fight continued. Eventually Brook was having issues with his vision, which led to to his trainer Dominic Ingle unexpectedly throwing in the towel.

Froch was one of the few who gave Brook a very good shot to pull off the upset. And things did get interesting in the contest when Brook was tagging Golovkin with hard, flush punches to the head.

Froch was not overly impressed with the victory. He felt Golovkin was able to walk away with the win because of his size and weight advantage. He was however impressed with the performance by Brook, but says the Sheffield fighter is better suited for welterweight or the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds.

"The only reason Gennady Golovkin came through was the size and natural weight advantage. Kell Brook showed warrior instincts in there to stay in and carry on. He didn't go down and get knocked out. He is leaving here with his head held high. His reputation is intact. He is a world class welterweight he may be a world class light middleweight but he got found out tonight that he is not a middleweight," Froch said to Sky Sports.

If Brook decides to drop back to the welterweight limit, his mandatory challenger at the weight is unbeaten Errol Spence.
