Froch on Kessler: I'll Kill This F***er If I Have To!

CARL FROCH turned three years of anger into a verbal assault on Mikkel Kessler by declaring: “I will kill this f****r if I have to.”

The pair meet in a world super-middleweight unification bout at London’s 02 Arena on Saturday.

IBF champion Froch is still angry at losing his WBC crown to WBA holder Kessler when they met in Denmark in April 2010.

Froch, 35, won the title back after injured Kessler was forced to relinquish it but the Nottingham fighter is still seething at losing their first meeting on points.

Froch blew his top ahead of their latest meeting and said: “I will kill this f****r if I have to. It sounds brutal, it sounds horrible, but that’s what this fight means to me.

“When I am smashing his face in, I am going to go for the kill. I want to do him some damage. I want to put the record straight.

“I’ve never felt like this before. I’ve wanted to win before, but there is something about this guy that winds me up.

“It’s anger and I’ve got to channel it. I’m in there not just to win this fight but to put him out of the game.

“I don’t want to see him any more. I’m sick of him, I’m sick of the fact he has beaten me. I want to put the record straight.

“And if that means I have to do him some serious damage, then I will do. After all, I had to watch him strap my belt around his waist.

“I had to watch his promoter, Kalle Sauerland, shaking his head like a lunatic with his hair falling all over the place and salivating around his mouth, hugging him.

"So when I get in that ring on Saturday and look across at him and his promoter, I can tell you I am already in the mood.

“After I lost to him the first time I felt angry. It’s personal.

“He’s all right, Kessler, but he is quite cheeky coming over here to England to fight me, thinking he can come to my home turf and beat me after everything I have done.

“He’s been a little bit disrespectful.”

The Kessler defeat was the first of Froch’s career but he said: “I’ve improved a lot since. I’ve had over 40 rounds of elite level fighting against the best in the world such as Arthur Abraham, Andre Ward and Lucian Bute.

“I’m a lot more experienced now.”

Before I could care less about a Froch showdown with Kessler but after hearing his comments and somehow feeling how passionate they are I will be tuning in. His destruction of Bute was stunning, I will see how he will…
