Carl Froch believes he is finally getting the credit he deserves after becoming a three-time world champion with his destruction of Lucian Bute in May. The Nottingham veteran will make the first defence of his IBF super-middleweight title against American Yusaf Mack at the Capital FM Arena in his home city on November 17.
As previously reported, Carl Froch will make the first defence of his IBF super-middleweight title against American Yusaf Mack on November 17. The Nottingham veteran should enjoy a relatively straightforward task on home turf at the Capital FM Arena after winning the belt in May. Froch, 35, destroyed unbeaten champion Lucian Bute in five rounds to snatch the title and continue a remarkable run of fights against elite opposition. Now he has been rewarded with a slightly less daunting night's work against Mack, who is ranked at number six by the IBF at light-heavyweight.
By Terence Dooley - Carl "The Cobra" Froch will face Yusaf Mack on November 17 in the first defence of the IBF super middleweight title that Froch ripped from Lucian Bute via a fifth-round TKO in Nottingham on May 26. Froch, 35, will once again headline at his home city's FM Arena for the meeting with the 32-year-old challenger. "The Bute win was one of the greatest nights of my life and I plan on doing something special against Mack," said Froch when announcing the contest on Sky Sports News, 29-2 (21). "He's got nothing to lose."
