Former champion Amir Khan is having a tough time selecting a winner for the upcoming super middleweight rematch between IBF/WBA 'regular' champion Carl Froch and mandatory challenger George Groves. The first time, last November, Groves dropped Froch in the first round and came close to a major upset before Froch rallied to gain a controversial stoppage in the ninth round. The rematch is set for May 31 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Super middleweight George Groves is confident he will be in his best-ever shape for the eagerly anticipated rematch with IBF/WBA 'regular' champion Carl Froch, and Groves said his biggest challenge now is to stay calm until the bout. Froch saw off Groves in November 2013, only for the IBF to order a mandatory rematch after controversy over referee Howard Foster's handling of the fight. Groves said he will accept no distractions as he gears up for the Wembley showdown.

George Groves has continued his pre-fight verbal battle with Carl Froch by branding the IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion a liar. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Groves raised the temperature of the eagerly awaited clash once again. Groves said the pair's last meeting, which saw the challenger being shoved to one side by Froch during a photocall at Wembley Stadium, was a sign that his opponent was "losing his cool".
Carl Froch claims he has "gone back to old school" as he attempts to silence George Groves once and for all in their highly anticipated grudge re-match at the end of the month. Froch retained his WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles in the first meeting between the two fighters last November when referee Howard Foster controversially halted the bout in the ninth round, with many observers feeling Groves was in a position to continue despite being under attack. Londoner Groves knocked down the champion in the opening round and had enjoyed the better exchanges throughout up until the stoppage, which prompted boos at the Manchester Arena.

Word out of Carl Froch’s training camp is that the Cobra is taking his preparations for next month’s rematch with George Groves deadly seriously. And to hone his edge even further, the champion has literally been taking himself out of his comfort zone. Froch leaves his partner and children on a Monday morning and heads for Sheffield, where his camp is based. Instead of returning home at the end of the day, Froch is now sharing a room in Sheffield with a member of the Team GB amateur squad. It’s almost a return to student days, and a far cry from the luxury he’s used to, but his self-enforced Spartan regime suits his mood of getting back to basics.
Carl Froch and George Groves take to the ring again next month in their rematch and the Cobra has predicted a similar outcome in the Wembley showdown. Froch retained his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles when he won the first fight with a ninth-round stoppage in Manchester last November. Groves was unhappy about the decision and insisted he was fit to continue fighting when referee Howard Foster ended the contest, but Froch insists there will be no arguments about the result this time around.
