The rematch is only days away and the search for a referee continues. This Saturday night before 80,000 fans at London's Wembley Stadium, Carl Froch will defend the IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight titles against George Groves.

The initial pick to referee the match was Jack Reiss, but Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn objected to his appointment. The next man, which Hearn liked, was Charlie Fitch.

According to the IBF, there is now a fresh objection about Fitch. The IBF have officially stated that Fitch (or even Reiss) could still officiate this Saturday night, but they also confirm there are ongoing discussions for another referee as well.

Lindsey Tucker, IBF Championships Chairman, told Skysports.com:

"We had some discussions and different people complained about different ones. Yes there were discussions about a third one, but I'm not at liberty to give out any names. Well it's possible [Reiss or Fitch may be the referee], it's possible it could still be one of those guys, but I can't really say anything right now."
