Freddy Ortiz Inks Pact With Miguel Cotto Promotions

CAGUAS, PR- The highly quoted Puerto Rican boxer Freddy Ortiz has signed with the 5 times world champion in 4 divisions and promoter Miguel Cotto. The 20 year old had a very prominent amateur career with over 150 fights. His most prized victory was obtaining  the bronze medal in the 2012 World Juvenile Tournament in Armenia. "Freddy Ortiz will make his highly anticipated professional debut on Friday July 11 in his hometown at the Humacao Arena on the Boxeo Boricua WAPA 2 Deportes Network.

"We are very pleased with the addition of Freddy to our company. He had excellent achievements as an amateur boxer and we  believe he has big potential and talent to achieve big goals as a professional boxer", said promoter Miguel Cotto.

"I am very proud in this new stage of my career. I'm very focused on my goals, I feel ready and prepared to work hard because the professional and amateur boxing are very different but we know that working every day will fall in time. I am very grateful for the opportunity to belong to the company Miguel Cotto Promotions, "said Freddy Ortiz.

The experienced veteran trainer Orlando Rodriguez will be his head trainer who also is trainer to the top prospects Jantony Ortiz and Antonio "Cacique" Ortiz.
