Trainer Freddie Roach has a busy schedule working out of his Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood with such fighters as Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto on his roster. But he's unsure if he's going to continue working with former super middleweight beltholder, Lucien Bute, who was working with Roach this fall before suffering an injury before his scheduled bout last December.
"I don't know,"admitted Roach to BoxingScene.com. "We trained in the Philippines for his last fight and then we had a little bit of an injury and I had him take some time off. I obviously had to take care of Pacquiao's fight and we haven't spoken since he left the Philippines. I haven't spoke to his people or anyone, but I told him when he gets his back problem worked out we'll get back to work and then we'll think about another date and possibly another opponent."
Bute has gone through some changes recently, having signed with Al Haymon. For Roach, this could cloud the issue.
"I thought he was happy with the people that he had and he's a big draw up in Montreal and I don't know what Al brings to the table that can change what he already is," he stated.
