Freddie Roach: This is Not The End of Manny Pacquiao

By Ryan Burton

MGM Grand Las Vegas, NV- Shortly after Manny Pacquiao's shocking knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, trainer Freddie Roach said that he thinks the former 8 division champion should continue with his career.

"I don't think (he should retire). I don't think this is the end of Manny Pacquiao. I talked to him before he went to the hospital. He knows he made a mistake. He knows he got careless and walked into one," Roach stated.

Roach said that he would welcome a 5th fight with Marquez but also said it may be better for him to take an easier fight first.

"If Manny comes to the gym and trains hard sure I would welcome another fight but it might be better to take a softer touch first," Roach explained.

Both fighters suffered significant injuries in the sure fire "Fight of the Year" candidate. Pacquiao suffered a concussion and went to the hospital for a CAT Scan while Marquez also suffered a concussion in addition to a broken nose.

Manny Pacquiao should retire or maybe fight 1 last fight against Bradley and call it a day.

[QUOTE=Dudley;12786918]Yeah I think he should too... but with a different trainer. Roach is done. Leaping in with his hands down on top of throwing a shyte jab. Roach failed to correct the basic fundamentals, and got owned... I think he…

[QUOTE=4Corners;12786932]Pac looked as good and fluid as he'd been since Clottey. He was in control and busting Marquez up. He just got caught with something he didn't see coming. I wouldn't mind if Pac retired. Anyone notice Arum's face in…
