Frankie Gomez Destroys Davis in One at Club Nokia

By Chris LaBate

Club Nokia, Los Angeles, California - Hot junior welterweight prospect
Frankie Gomez (9-0, 7KOs) crushed Jason Davis (11-9-1, 3KOs) in 25 seconds of the first round. Gomez scored a knockdown with the first combination that he threw and landed. Davis tried to get up but he was unable to straighten out his legs to stand and the referee stopped the fight. A left hook and then a right hand to the ear had Davis out.

Welterweight Ernesto Ocon (3-0, 2KOs) knocked out Miguel Pizarro (1-2, 0KOs) in the third round.

Lightweight Ramon Valadez (8-1, 4KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over his most seasoned opponent to date, Rafael Lora (11-5, 5KOs). The scores were 60-54, 59-55 and 60-54.

Junior welterweight prospect Fidel Madlonado Jr. (10-0, 9KOs) knocked Jorge Cordero (4-7, 4KOs) out at 1:03 of the first round.
