Birmingham's Frankie Gavin, 28, has been named as challenger for the EBU welterweight title. Gavin, 18-0 (12KO), will meet Italy's 39-year-old Leonard Bundu, 30-0-2 (11KO), if both parties can agree terms according to the EBU's latest championship notices.
Purse bids are due by midday on Wednesday the 30th of April.
First, though, Gavin must overcome Sacky Shikukutu this Saturday night. Namibia's Shikukutu challenges Gavin for the Commonwealth belt at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.
However, the 18-2-1 (12) Namibian is unlikely to upset the former World Amateur Champion, so Gavin is expected to ease past his latest title challenger to set-up a crack at the EBU champion.
