Frankie Gavin, James DeGale Racing To World Titles

Birmingham ace Frankie Gavin has promised to stop Midlands rival Young Mutley in spectacular style.
 
And Gavin believes a win will stand him in good stead as he races close friend James DeGale to a world title.
 
The pair are both in action on May 21 at the O2 Arena, London.
 
Gavin takes on Young Mutley for the WBO Intercontinental welterweight title.
 
And Britain's only ever amateur world champion says victory will help him gate-crash the world's top 10.
 
"I've had some banter with James recently about who is going to win a world title first," said Gavin.
 
"Obviously he's a bit ahead of me at the moment, but I think a win against Mutley could help me gain a bit of ground.
 
"Fingers crossed, it could get me in the WBO's top 10, and from there, anything could happen.
 
"We were close mates when we boxed as amateurs together.
 
"I got that world title, but he got the Olympic gold, so both wind each other up a bit when we meet at fights.
 
"I'd love to sneak in there and win a world title first, because I know if James beats me, I won't hear the end of it!
 
"I want to show everyone on May 21 that I'm already a level or two above the likes of Young Mutley.
 
'He's a good, experienced opponent, but if I don't stop him I'll go home unhappy.
 
"I want to knock out everyone I fight to be honest.
 
"I've managed to stop eight out of nine opponents, so the power is definitely there.
 
"Against Mutley there will be a bit of West Midlands pride on the line as well, so there is no way that I'm going home having lost to him."
