Tomorrow night's fight between former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton and Andres Gutierrez in Belfast is off.
The bout had been sanctioned as a WBC World Featherweight title eliminator but that was quashed after Frampton came in one pound over the 126lb limit.
Gutierrez suffered injuries due to a freak accident and posted a photos of those injuries to his personal social media account. He suffered several bad cuts, reportedly due to a slip and fall accident in the shower.
In a statement released by Cyclone Promotions tonight it read:
Cyclone Promotions and The SSE Arena regret to announce that the “Return of The Jackal” event scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 29th July, has been cancelled due to an accident to Andres Gutierrez.
It is hoped that the event will be rescheduled but ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets and contact point of purchase for further information.
