Fragomeni-Ziausys, Zamora-Coggi, Vidoz, Frenkel, More

As always in the summer time in Italy, there is less football (soccer) on TV and thus more chances for boxing promoters to secure network dates and more promotions and here´s some of the action that is coming up.

OPI 2000 have former WBC cruiser champ Giacobbe Fragomeni headlining a show in Civitanova Marche on July 8. Fragomeni takes on durable Lithuanian journeyman Remigijus Ziausys. Lightweight Carel Sandon challenge for the vacant WBC silver title against Samir Ziani in the co-feature.

On July 16, Luca Giacon defends the EU lightweight title against Spanish veteran Rudy Encarnacion while the undercard features some of OPI 2000´s stars like Luciano Abis and Domenico Spada in tune ups.

July 1 in Arrezzo on a Rosanna Conti Cavini promotion,  Adriano Nicchi clashes against Salvatore Annunziata for the Italian jr middleweight title.

Loreni Boxe stage the annual Primo Carnera Memorial July 10 and has Brunet Zamora defending the WBA I/C jr welterweight title against Argentinian Juan Martin Coggi, Jr, who indeed is the son of the former world champ.

Flyweight veterans Giuseppe Lagana and Rafael Lozano clash for the EU title August 5 on Sardinia on a Rosanna Conti Cavini promotion. Michele Di Rocco returns on the undercard with RCC after a year with OPI 2000.

Heavyweight Paolo Vidoz had his comeback postponed from July 1 until July 15.

The most interesting fight this hectic summer is perhaps EBU cruiserweight champ Alexander Frenkel´s defence against Silvio Branco July 22 in Civitavecchia.
